Welcome to the STEM Career Website
Diminishing the "Einstein Model"
By being immersed in STEM, you can embark on a journey of discovery, where you’ll learn new skills and challenge yourself every single day.
Site Overview
The "Einstein Model" is what comes to mind when a lot of people think of scientists; they often view a person in the STEM field as being a traditional white male. This has been modeled in society for hundreds of years, and so this becomes society's perception of somebody in a STEM career. The goal of this website is to diminish this stereotype and change thought processes in how humanity views females in STEM, and how females view themselves. Another goal of this website is to exhibit some of the many subject areas in that are influences by STEM, such as nature and the humanities. This is an important step as we work towards increasing the connection between model scientists and young aspiring female scientists, and increasing awareness about STEM influence on the world.
This website was created as part of a Girl Scout Gold Award. As the Girl Scout website states, "Gold Award Girl Scouts are the dreamers and the doers who take “make the world a better place” to the next level. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable—proof that not only can she make a difference, but that she already has."
